Wikileaks recently released another data dump titled simple The Podesta Emails. Podesta is the Chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. In an email from Gary Hirshberg, chairman and former president and CEO of Stonyfield Farm and current board of directors member at the Organic Voters Action Fund which oversees the Just Label it project, dated February 23, 2016 he expressed the following points to Podesta:
Replying to the Podesta/Hirshberg message first appears to be Michael Hansen Ph.D. senior scientist at Consumers Union – the policy and actions division of Consumer Reports. Hansen has been largely responsible for developing Consumers Union's positions on safety, testing and labeling of genetically engineered food. Furthermore, Consumer Reports as a nonprofit entity has publicly sided with labeling genetically modified organisms (GMO) and warned about the potential health threats genetically engineered crops and their associated chemicals pose. So it was no surprise that Hansen wrote the following, however, it gives the public a glimpse of how closely aligned some in positions of influence are towards opposition of GMO food and the lack of trust in government to make the necessary changes:
Is Hansen correct in his statements about Hillary Clinton? Judy Frankel, founder of WriteIndependent.org reported in her 2015 Huffington Post piece the following information:
"How is Hillary personally involved in supporting big agriculture? The Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), which gathers leaders to solve the world’s problems, promotes Monsanto, the maker of RoundUp® and RoundUp Ready® seeds. Hugh Grant, Monsanto’s Chairman and CEO spoke at the Clinton Global Initiative conference in September, 2014. Ms. Clinton’s top campaign advisor, Jerry Crawford, was a lobbyist for Monsanto for years and is now the political pro for her Super PAC, “Ready for Hillary.” Clinton spoke in favor of the government’s Feed the Future (FtF) program, a USAID funded, corporate-partnered program that brings RoundUp Ready® technology to the most vulnerable populations of the world. Monsanto and Dow Chemical support Hillary and Bill’s ‘Clinton Foundation’ with generous donations.
Last year, at a San Diego biotech conference, Hillary coached her audience in messaging. “Genetically modified sounds Frankensteinish. Drought-resistant sounds like something you’d want. Be more careful so you don’t raise that red flag immediately.”

Clinton leveraged her position as US Secretary of State to jointly execute Clinton Foundation Agribusiness Initiatives through the US State Department as evidenced in the 2013 report by Food and Water Watch titled Biotech Ambassadors: How the US State Department Promotes the Seed Industry's Global Agenda.
The Podesta/Hirshberg email also had cc'ed a long list of recipients from most of the major non-GMO, GMO labeling and anti-GMO organizations, nonprofits and advocacy groups. However, a search for other replies – if any existed – comes up empty.
