Vaxxed comes out swinging with strong premiere weekend box office numbers.
From the starting gun, the biased coverage of the documentary Vaxxed by the mainstream media has proven to be nothing more than a distant voice trampled at every turn by reality. The film’s box office numbers have proven the mainstream media articles attacking Vaxxed dead wrong — yet again. As those same media outlets drum up more distractions and shiny literary objects to enchant their readers, the supporters of Vaxxed and free speech get this day to celebrate.
Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe grossed $28,339 in a little over three days at New York’s Angelika Film Center. The 28K weekend box office figure was achieved with no major advertising campaigns and less than three days to garner grassroots support after De Niro’s Tribeca snub heard around the world. During that time, the producers were also up against a strong storm of media headhunters eagerly looking to force the film into obscurity without having viewed it.
Even before the box office numbers were in, the producers were inundated with a tsunami of requests to premiere their film. Vaxxed will continue at New York’s Angelika Theater throughout the next two weeks. On deck warming up to premiere the film is the Monica Film Center (April 15) and the Manhattan Film Festival (April 24). Movie sites Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes are currently reporting five-stars with 131 reviews and a 91 percent audience score with 122 reviews respectively.
Where to from here? It has become clear in a short time that this movie is in massive demand. If it’s opening weekend box office numbers are any indication, Vaxxed appears to be a start for theaters wishing to get a slice of the buzz, a bump in ticket sales and cast a vote for freedom of speech and expression within the film industry. As for the mainstream media, it is yet to be seen if their tired machine will crank out any more fiction to finish beating a dead horse in their alternate reality of tall tales, fantasy and myth.
